You've tried a Big Mac ... now Saints fans may get the chance to sample the Lawrie Mac!

As part of Coca-Cola's Buy a Player promotion, Saints director and club legend Lawrie McMenemy has pledged to serve food from a refreshment stand outside St Mary's ... if supporters can raise £100,000.

The cash will come from Coke's latest initiative which will boost the transfer funds for all Football League and Scottish Premier League clubs.

To enter, fans from all FL and SPL clubs simply need to purchase a promotional bottle or multipack of Coca-Cola or Coke Zero and text in the unique code to 80094 or enter it at www.coca-cola.co.uk/football.

Upon entering, fans will find out instantly if they are winners of money for their club. Prizes range from 50p all the way up to £100,000 and winners of the £100,000 prizes will also win a personal cash prize of £10,000.

As an extra incentive to fans to text in, McMenemy and chairman Michael Wilde have pledged to serve burgers outside the stadium before the home pre-season friendly.

And the players have said they will dye their hair red and white for the final warm-up fixture before the new campaign if Saints hit their £100,000 target.

Saints will be hoping to hit the jackpot for a second successive season. Last year they won the top prize of £250,000 in Coca-Cola's Win a Player draw.

George Burley put the windfall towards the purchase of striker Bradley Wright-Phillips and the Saints boss is hoping fans can swell the club coffers once more.

He said: "It is a brilliant promotion and we were delighted to win the money which enabled us to buy Bradley who has done really well for us.

"Now hopefully the supporters will get right behind this new initiative and help get our transfer fund over £100,000 - if only to see Lawrie Mac serving burgers outside the ground!"

With the all new Buy A Player promotion less than a week old, Saints fans have already raised £62.50 to go into fourth place in the Championship table.

With one in two packs guaranteed to feature a monetary prize for clubs, the transfer funds are rising every day. To see how all the clubs are faring so far, fans simply need to go on to www.coca-cola.co.uk/football.

Everyone entering the Buy A Player promotion up until February 7th will also be automatically entered into a separate draw for £250,000. The winner will be announced live on Soccer AM on Saturday 10th February 2007.
