SAINTS loanee Dani Osvaldo was on target as Inter Milan climbed to third in Serie A with a comfortable 2-0 victory at home to Atalanta last night.
The controversial striker started on the bench but was brought on after just 25 minutes due to an injury to Mauro Icardi. Rodrigo Palacio missed a penalty midway through the first half but Osvaldo – on a season long loan from Saints – produced a spectacular finish five minutes before the interval.
Inter continued to dominate the contest and Hernanes finally wrapped up the victory with a superb free-kick late on.
Osvaldo has now scored three Serie A goals for Inter this season in just two starts and two sub outings.
That is the same amount of Premier League goals he managed for Saints last season in nine starts plus four sub appearances.
Osvaldo only scored once for Juventus in the second half of last season in 11 appearances after being sent back to Italy on loan after headbutting Jose Fonte in training.
