Morgan Schneiderlin and Shane Long are both set to return to the Saints squad for Sunday’s game against Liverpool, but Toby Alderweireld faces another week on the sidelines.
Schneiderlin is back after his adductor problem flared up again following a comeback against QPR, while Long is returning from cracked ribs. Matt Targett has also recovered from concussion.
However, Alderweireld will not be ready until the trip to West Brom.
“I have positive news because Shane Long and Morgan Schneiderlin did a normal session,” reported Saints boss Ronald Koeman.
“We have to wait for the reaction for the Sunday game but I am very positive that both players can be part of the Sunday squad.”
Of Alderweireld he added: “For this weekend not but we hope he will be available for next weekend.”
