EASTLEIGH will conclude their pre-season programme with a visit from Football League new boys Barnet.

The Bees, who pipped Bristol Rovers to the Vanarama Conference title, will visit the Silverlake Stadium on Saturday, August 1 (3pm).

Barnet boss Martin Allen has had a busy summer, adding midfielder Tom Champion from Cambridge United, attacker Ben Tomlinson from Lincoln City and experienced ex-Leyton Orient striker Kevin Lisbie to his title-winning squad as they prepare for life in League Two.

Eastleigh, who have so far recruited midfielder Josh Payne (Woking), striker Ross Lafayette (Luton) and defender Joe Partington (AFC Bournemouth), have also confirmed an away friendly at Steve Claridge’s Sydenhams League new boys Salisbury on Tuesday, July 28 (7.45pm).

The new Vanarama National League (formerly Conference) season kicks off on Saturday, August 8 and the Spitfires are closing in on their goal of shifting 1,000 season tickets.

Inspired by last term’s remarkable fourth-placed finish in Eastleigh’s maiden top-flight season, over 750 fans took advantage of the club’s ‘early bird’ discount offer.
