Ronald Koeman has told Les Reed that he will sit down and talk about his future after the final game of the season against Crystal Palace.
The Saints boss has just over a year remaining on his contract and inevitably there is increasing speculation as to whether he will stay at St Mary’s beyond that point.
Koeman revealed that Reed has contacted him and that he has confirmed he will meet the executive director as soon as the Palace game is finished and the season is over.
Koeman said: “I had a short talk yesterday afternoon about the future, and I said ‘let’s drink a coffee and have a talk after the Crystal Palace game.’ “After the season I think it’s normal that you talk about this season.
“Everybody knows I have left one year contract but if the club likes to have a talk about that I listen.
“That’s what I like to do.”
When asked whether he might like to extend his Saints contract, a cagey Koeman replied: “First we have to talk, and then concluding something but not before.
“I left it until after the Crystal Palace game.”
