Last season’s Southern Premier Cricket League runners-up, Burridge lost all ten wickets for 41 runs in a calamitous collapse against New Milton’s twin ‘major and minor’ spin attack at Fernhill.
They appeared to be cruising towards Milton’s 238-5 on the strength of a 125-run opening stand between Jamie Richards (56) and former Hampshire batsman Derek Kenway (50).
But plunged to 166 all out and a second consecutive ECB British Gas Southern Premier Division defeat by a 72-run margin.
Hampshire Over-50s spinner Nic Gargaro, pictured, (5-45) and teenager Oli Shrubsole (4-28) sent Burridge into freefall before Ryan Beck took the tenth and final wicket.
Earlier, New Zealander Dave Wakefield glued the New Milton innings together.
After a bright start with Tom Arnold (23), Wakefield lost four partners between 58 and 81, but turned the tide in key partnerships, initially with Lee Beck (30) and later an unbroken 92 with Matt Freeman (46 not out).
