BISHOPS Stortford fans have helped fund the signing of former Eastleigh striker Jamie Cureton for the Evo-Stik South Premier side.
The 42-year-old has joined the Blues from league rivals Farnborough who were unable to continue paying his travelling expenses following his return to the club in April last year.
Ex-Bristol Rovers and Reading man Cureton made his debut in New Year’s Day’s 3-0 home loss against Royston Town. He put the ball in the net only to see his effort ruled out for offside.
With only two other members of the Stortford squad – player coach Mark Hughes and another recent recruit Josh Simpson – within 20-years of Cureton, his signing should provide some much-needed experience for Kevin Watson’s side.
