Harry Ellis was backed to succeed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus as he prepared to make his Masters debut.

The Southampton golfer, pictured right with Nicklaus and his dad Murray, met the 18-time major winner yesterday.

Love when I have an opportunity to mentor young players and what a way to start @themasters week. Flattered that British Amateur champ @harry_ellis54, a senior at @floridastateuniversity and a standout for @fsugolf, would want to pick the brain of this old man before his first @themasters. Along with his father, Murray, we had a great chat. Harry has a bright future ahead of him and I wish him well this week and beyond!
