TROJANS’ have reversed the venue for tomorrow’s opening Premier Division 2 match to Sparsholt’s Norman Edwards Ground (12.30) as they continue to experience serious issues with the badly damaged Stoneham Lane outfield.
It seems unlikely the ground will be fit for play in the foreseeable future with Trojans seeking alternative venues for matches on May 12 and 19, the latter date a scheduled SPL home game with Paultons.
Chairman Sandy Hill has told Trojans members that “the required repair work has been greatly hampered by the weather and has run approximately one month behind schedule.
“The repairs required 60 tonnes of sand and top soil, as well as 18 bags of seed and 12 bags of fertiliser.
“The outfield was flooded again in midweek. We have been advised that the new seed will take best part of a month to get to a point that it can support use without further damage.”
