HAMPSHIRE legend Sean Ervine has signed for Southern Premier League outfit Langley Manor - and could make his debut on Sunday.

Ervine, the man of the match when Hampshire beat Warwickshire in the 2005 C & G Trophy final, has not been involved in this season’s Royal London One-Day Cup.

But the day after Hampshire’s final against Kent at the home of cricket, scene of Ervine’s match-winning century 13 years ago, the all-rounder is likely to be focused on playing against South Wilts in the SPL’s T20 Cup (3pm start).

There will be extra parking space at Knellers Lane, Totton for Ervine’s debut.

Langley Manor captain Jack Budd said: “Having a player like Sean Ervine is a real coup for a club like ours. There’s no guarantee he’ll play yet, but as things stand he’s available on Sunday.

“Any game he plays for us is a bonus and we’ll make best use of him when he’s available.

“It’s as exciting for our colts section as it is for the first team. Hopefully he’ll add a few to the crowd, we’ll have a BBQ going and the bar will be open.”

Ervine, 35, has only played one first-team game all season, against Surrey in the County Championship, with Hampshire preferring to give youth a chance.

Langley Manor are fourth in SPL2, the third tier of the Southern Premier League.
