KIERAN Hancock has scored the first goal of the new Sydenhams Wessex League season.
The home-grown Romsey Town player gave his side the first-half edge against Hythe & Dibden at The Bypass Ground this evening.
Further goals from Harry Draycott and Matt Page made sure of all three Division One points for Andy Samuels' Romsey before Jack Attrill pulled one back for Hythe on 83 minutes.
The Premier Division opener between Hamble Club and Lymington Town ended goalless at the Hamble Community Facility.
There was a blank scoreline too at Cuthbury where Wimborne Town entertained Blackfield & Langley in a pre-season friendly.
