PIP Nolan made a useful debut for Blackfield & Langley in Tuesday’s 2-0 win at Fleet Town.
The former Follands, Team Solent and AFC Totton man struck up a promising midfield partnership with Adam Tomasso as the newly-promoted Watersiders made it six points from six in the Evo-Stik Division One South.
Blackfield played the last 20 minutes with ten men at Fleet after Owen Fee had been red-carded for retaliation, but it was another rock-solid performance from Glenn Howes’ reigning Wessex champions.
The Watersiders were awarded two penalties for fouls on Charlie Urry and Rudy Plummer. Liam Robinson missed the first, but scored off the rebound, and ex-Eastleigh youngster Fee tucked away the other.
“We controlled every aspect of the game from beginning to end,” said B&L’s co-assistant manager Chris Farrell.
Blackfield visit divisional rivals Melksham Town in the FA Cup on Saturday (3pm) before hosting Nolan's old club AFC Totton in a Southern League derby on bank holiday Monday (1pm).
Defender Joey Byrne should be back on Saturday after missing Tuesday’s game with an ankle problem.
Connor Doe has one game left of a three-match suspension but will be available to face Totton.
