AFC TOTTON boss Louis Langdown was left wondering whether his younger players “know what the FA Cup is all about” after yesterday's sorry 1-0 exit at lower-league Hamworthy United.

The Stags’ lack of urgency was punished by Jamie Filkins’ late winner, leaving Langdown to rue a missed opportunity for the club.

“We knew Hamworthy would be big and strong, but we had no energy about us at all. It felt more like pre-season than an FA Cup tie," he reflected.

"We were awful and I’m completely gutted for the club and for the older boys who know what the Cup’s all about.

“We hit the bar through Crooky (Liam Crook) and forced three good saves in the last 20 minutes, but Hamworthy hit us on the break.

"No disrespect to them, but no way should we be losing that game.

"We're only three games into the season and already we're out of the biggest competition. We were up against a side from the league below and we had to be favourites to go through."

Crook (knee) is unlikely to feature tomorrow as Totton look to win their stripes back in the Evo-Stik Division One South derby at Blackfield & Langley (1pm).

Blackfield also bowed out of the FA Cup 1-0 at Melksham Town but could consider themselves unlucky.

Having saved one penalty, keeper Lewis Noice was beaten by another (awarded for handball) from Lee Davidson late on.

B&L had had Rudy Plummer sent off for dissent on 44 minutes.

For Division One South newcomers Melksham, it was their 11th straight league and cup victory.
