AFC STONEHAM have landed a third successive home tie in their maiden FA Cup adventure.

Having seen off higher-league duo AFC Portchester (after a replay) and Westfield, Tim Cole’s Sydenhams Division One charges are ready to welcome Cirencester Town to their HP Arena stronghold on Saturday week (September 8, 3pm) in the first qualifying round.

Like Westfield, Cirencester are two rungs above Stoneham on the non-League ladder, currently sitting sixth in the Evo-Stik Division One South with six points from their opening three games.

Stoneham have pocketed over £5,000 for their Cup exploits so far and there is a further £6,000 up for grabs for the first qualifying round winners – a sum likened to “Lottery money” by chairman Mark Stupple.

Winchester City, who have kicked off the season with four straight league and cup victories, will travel to one-league-higher Frome Town of the Evo-Stik South Premier.

Lymington Town will host the winners of the Royal Wootton Bassett Town v Lydney Town replay, while Sholing entertain AFC Totton’s conquerors Hamworthy United in an all-Sydenhams Premier tie.

Steve Claridge's Salisbury kick off their Cup escapades with a home tie against current Evo-Stik Division One South leaders Yate Town.
