Shane Long down injured at Crystal Palace
Saints have injury doubts over strike duo Charlie Austin and Shane Long ahead of Monday night’s game against Brighton.
The pair have not been able to train over the international break and are unlikely to return until the weekend.
That will leave them just a session or two to prove their fitness ahead of the Premier League clash at St Mary’s.
Saints boss Mark Hughes said: “They are just niggles.
“Charlie has got an issue with his hamstring and Shane had to come off against Palace with an issue with his toe.
“Both injuries have settled down and we are hopeful to get them back into the group on Saturday if we can.”
