FORMER AFC Totton defender Tony Rolls was Bashley’s all-action hero in a 4-0 FA Vase win at Royal Wootton Bassett Town.

Having got the ball rolling with a superb header from Harrison White’s out-swinging delivery, Rolls later netted Bashley’s fourth with a powerful shot before weighing in with a late goal-line clearance at the other end.

Bustling frontman Cameron Beard matched him goal for goal, getting on the end of crosses from White and Dan Munday.

Bashley’s next opponents Baffins Milton Rovers went goal crazy with a 14-1 thumping of New College Swindon.

The academy side had to slog their way through heavy traffic, delaying kick-off by 15 minutes.

To compound their misery, Tommy Leigh (4), Tyler Moret (3), Jason Parrish (3), Robbie Taw (2), Sedal Seibou and Harry Wedlake triggered a landslide scoreline.

There was no gloating from Baffins boss Steve Leigh, however.

“I don’t take any great pleasure from the scoreline because we were up against a very young side,’ he said.

AFC Stoneham quickly flushed their 7-0 FA Cup defeat by Cirencester Town out of their system.

The Purples picked up August’s Sydenhams One Club-of-the-Month and Respect awards prior to beating Binfield 3-2 in the Vase.

Having led through a Sergio Caballero penalty, Stoneham fell 2-1 down in the 77th minute before Caballero (90) and Ben Clarke (92) turned the game on its head.

Fareham Town emerged 2-1 extra-time winners over Corsham.

It was goalless after 90 minutes, but Lamin Jatta and Curt Robbins gave Fareham the edge before Corsham struck late.

Second-half goals from James Thomson and Mo Nyang saw Brockenhurst through 2-0 at US Portsmouth.

Brock had their dressing room broken into during the pre-match warm-up, but manager Pat McManus has tweeted his thanks to ex-Navy man Graham Deacon and Ian Brockenhurst for reimbursing the players who had money stolen.

Totton & Eling’s young side triumphed 1-0 over East Cowes Vics thanks to Luca Cordeddu’s penalty.

Harry Hawkins gave underdogs Fawley AFC a 15th-minute lead at Hamworthy United, but the Oilers succumbed 3-1 to goals by Dan Cann, Sam Bayston and Steve Smith.

Micky Finch was Bournemouth Poppies’ hat-trick hero in a 3-1 victory over manager Michael Cuffie’s old club Christchurch.

Cuffie said afterwards: “I’ve got a lot of friends at Christchurch and I get on well with them. But we’ve got a good side this season and we’re fortunate enough not to fear anybody.”
