THE biggest match in Lymington Town’s 20-year history is to be streamed live on the BBC website.

The Sydenhams Wessex Premier outfit will get their place in the spotlight when they entertain former Football League club Torquay United in the FA Cup second qualifying round on Saturday (September 22).

Due to the BBC’s interest in the ‘David v Goliath’ clash, the kick-off time has been brought forward to 12.30pm at Lymington Sports Ground.

The full-timers of Torquay, managed by Gary Johnson, were a Football League side as recently as 2014.

The re-formed Lymington club, meanwhile, are in their 13th Sydenhams Premier season having worked their way up from Hampshire Three.

“It’s the biggest game in this little club’s history by a mile and it’s pulled the whole community together,” smiled Lymington’s director of football John Pyatt.

Unfortunately for Lymington, their FA Vase journey is already over.

They lost Saturday’s second qualifying round tie 2-1 at Eversley & California of Combined Counties One.

Sam House bagged Town’s consolation goal after The Boars had gone down to ten men.
