BLACKFIELD & Langley are ready to write another chapter of club history at Gang Warily on Saturday.
Glenn Howes’ Watersiders sit proudly aloft the Evo-Stik Division One South in their debut Southern League season.
And their rise in status will be reflected on Saturday (3pm) when they host their first ever FA Trophy tie.
Divisional rivals Highworth Town are the visitors for the extra preliminary round clash, worth £2,000 to the winners.
It will be the first of two meetings in eight days between the clubs, with Blackfield due to visit the Worthians in the league on October 6.
“A first ever FA Trophy game will be nice for the club and hopefully we’ll do ourselves justice,” said B&L co-assistant boss Chris Farrell.
“The good thing about this league is you don’t get back-to-back midweek games all the time, so it’s given the players a chance to recuperate.”
