FA CUP heroes Winchester City face a fixture backlog after drawing 2-2 at Slimbridge in the FA Trophy extra preliminary round yesterday.
The Citizens led 2-1 heading into stoppage time, only to be pegged back by Max Harper-Emerson’s last-gasp leveller.
After Yeshaya Lomotey had given Slimbridge a 12th-minute lead, goal machine Tyrell Mitford headed in his tenth of the season from Reece Rusher’s cross for 1-1.
Jamie Barron fired Winchester ahead on 33 minutes, his shot bouncing in off the post, but they couldn’t quite hang on.
“It wasn’t a great performance,” confessed manager Craig Davis. “It looked like we’d dug it out, but they got the equaliser they deserved.
“We tried to guard against ‘after the Lord Mayor’s Show’ (following the 4-1 FA Cup win at Methyr), but it just went flat. The game was petering out and we sleepwalked into it a bit.
“We’ve got the replay on Tuesday (7.45pm) and the Hampshire Senior Cup tie against Hartley Wintney has been moved to next week, which means the league game against Highworth is off.
"We’re dropping like a stone in the league.”
City are now ninth in the Evo-Stik Division One South but have played just five league games.
