SAINTS midfielder Steven Davis has been linked with a return to Glasgow Rangers in January, initially on loan.
The Northern Ireland captain left Ibrox for St Mary’s in 2012, but his 159 Premier League appearances do not include any starts this season.
According to the Belfast Telegraph, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is hoping to unite 33 year-old Davis with his Northern Ireland teammates Kyle Lafferty and Gareth McAuley.
Davis, who has had more game time for Northern Ireland than Saints this season, enjoyed four successful years for Rangers from 2008-2012, winning three league championships, two Scottish Cups and three League Cups.
