MANCHESTER United will be without Alexis Sanchez and Victor Lindelof for their Premier League clash against Saints at teatime tomorrow.

Chilean forward Sanchez is set to be sidelined for around six weeks after injuring his hamstring in training on Thursday.

Lindelof joins fellow defenders Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian on the sidelines with a muscular injury that could keep him out for three weeks. United manager Jose Mourinho is poised, therefore, to hand a Premier League debut to teenage full-back Diogo Dalot.

Sanchez has struggled to hit top form since his move from Arsenal in January and was surprisingly left out of the squad altogether for the midweek Champions League victory over Young Boys.

United currently sit seventh and are seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, yet Mourinho is hopeful of a concerted effort to push up the table, having already sealed their place in the Champions League knockout stages.

“We can now just focus on the Premier League and we need points. We need to improve our position in the table, we want to close the gap to the top four,” Mourinho said.

“We want to be smelling these positions.

“But everybody for different reasons needs points. We are going to have a very difficult match against a team that I know is not going to have any problems.”
