Ralph Hasenhuttl revealed that both Danny Ings and Shane Long are fit to play Arsenal this weekend.

Ings has been out of the Saints side since limping off with a hamstring injury in the first half of the 1-1 draw with Watford.

Long suffered a setback at the beginning of the international break and returned to St Mary’s requiring a small operation on his ankle.

Hasenhuttl said: “I have good news in that a few players have come back this week.

“Danny Ings, Shane Long and Cedric Soares trained twice this week with the team firstly in a smaller group and then the whole squad,

“It seems they don’t have any problems anymore.”

Despite being boosted by the return of Ings and Long, Hasenhuttl added that Ryan Bertrand will be unavailable after undergoing a back operation.

Jack Stephens is also a doubt ahead of Sunday’s game with the Gunners.

Stephens started in the 3-1 defeat to Tottenham but was then dropped to the bench for the Cardiff game last weekend.

“The bad news is Jack Stephens had a problem with his knee and contact with another guy in training.

“We can’t tell you at the moment how bad it is, but I hope it’s not too bad.”
