Ralph Hasenhuttl has spoken ahead of Saints' Premier League match with Huddersfield on Saturday.

The Austrian discussed the latest team news, how the mood changed after the Arsenal win, the type of game he is expecting against Huddersfield, settling into English life and Mario Lemina's future at the club.

Here are five things Hasenhuttl said:

1. Team news:

“Five players came back and this week we have trained with 23 players.

“It was a little bit too much, but everyone wants to jump on the train as it’s leaving the station.

“It could be a coincidence that everyone is fit again, but we are building something up and everyone wants to be a part of that.”

2. Saints' mood lifting after the Arsenal victory:

“You could feel that everyone enjoyed it a lot and it helps us as managers to put new stuff in their mind.

“They are following it really well now and it’s important that they see this kind of information can work.

“We have a long way to go until we are out of this situation and the game against Huddersfield is really important.

“We can send a strong signal to the league that we are not going to lean back.”

3. The kind of match he expects with Huddersfield:

“It’s a six-point game.

“I think the win against Arsenal would be really important when we can also get a few points in Huddersfield.

“No one thought that we can take something against Arsenal but against Huddersfield it’s a completely different situation.”

4. Settling into English life:

Daily Echo:

“I enjoy my work very much.

“Speaking in English in front of my players is getting better and better every day. Press conferences not really but I want to improve also in this part of my English.

“I think at the moment I am happy to see I have a team that is very quick learning and I think they appreciate what we tell them and show them.

“The videos helped us a lot in the first week, otherwise performances like last Sunday wouldn’t have been possible.”

5. The speculation surrounding Lemina:

Daily Echo:

Mario Lemina

“First I see that the transfer window in England is similarly important as it is in Germany.

“The only difference is in England the games continue over Christmas and New Year.

“No one here is uncomfortable at the moment and if he does we find a solution.

“Lemina is a very important player for us, one of our best players, and though he’s not 100 per cent fit I need him.

“The other guys we don’t want to speak about speculation. The players know what they have, what they can expect from us and that’s the main part.”
