IT HAS been very busy for the Loddon Vale players.

The men beat Portsmouth's Victory 85-61 in the Bramley League.

The Loddon skips and scores were Gary Lovett 28-12, Trevor Morgan 15-13, Ashley Nethercliffe 24-15 and Geoff Green 18-21.

In the Wessex League, the men lost 90-68 to Bournemouth.The team's skips and scores were as follows Bob Goodyear 24-18, Geoff Green 10-28, Gary Lovett 25-10 and Guy Makepeace 8-34.

The Ladies had a good 87-60 win in the Riversmeet league against Banister Park, based in Southampton.

The winning team's skips and scores were as follows Yvonne Banister 13-16, Alice Lovett 25-16, Sheila Stone 29-9 and Tina Rogers 20-19.

The Juniors have also had a very good outcome in the English Bowls Youth Development Scheme where they competed against other juniors from Hampshire.

In total 24 juniors in the eight to14 age group attended with seven from Loddon. Zach Miller was first with Martin Mason third. Lexus Jones was 11th, John Kitchen 14th, 15th William Herald 15th, Ewan Sheers 17th and Annna-Marie Clinch was 22nd.

In the Senior section for 15 to 18-year-olds, Alice Lovett was second and Joe Kinge sixth out of 11 competitors.

Zach Miller and Alice Lovett will represent Loddon Vale and Hampshire in the Southern Regional finals at Horsham, West Sussex in April.

In a friendly match against Chawton Park, Alton, Loddon had a good win taking the match 128-88.

The team's skips and scores was as follows Ian Gourlay 15-17, Jeff Beckwith 7-20, Peter Grant 18-19, Steve Foyle 28-10, Adrian Bush 28-13 and Mo Saunders 32-9.

Loddon Vale, on the Basingstoke Leisure Park, is hosting the Open Singles Circuit on the weekend of February 9/10, where top players from the south of England will be competing for prize money. Visitors are welcome.
