SAINTS loanee Jake Hesketh got his MK Dons career started with a 3-1 defeat to Exeter.
Hesketh, 22, didn’t start the match but was brought on by ex-Saint Paul Tisdale to replace Ryan Harley in the 55th minute.
By the time the midfielder came on, MK Dons were already two goals down after strikes from Nicholas Law and Jake Taylor.
Tisdale’s side managed to get themselves back into the game through Joe Walsh when he found the back of the net in the 48th minute.
However, Law doubled his tally and ensured Hesketh and Tisdale left the St James Stadium empty-handed.
Elsewhere, fellow Saints loanee Harrison Reed also had a weekend to forget.
The midfielder played all 90 minutes of Blackburn’s crushing 5-2 defeat to Brentford.
Rovers went 2-0 up, with Reed assisting Danny Graham for the second, but then conceded five.
It’s the first time Rovers have lost in the Championship since the start of the calendar year.
