JAKE Hesketh scored his second goal in as many starts for MK Dons following his loan move to the League Two club.

Having played the last 15 minutes of the 1-0 win at Newport County on Tuesday night, Hesketh returned to the starting line up at Carlisle United on Saturday.

Carlisle soon cancelled out MK Dons 11th-minute opener, but Hesketh restored the visitors’ lead midway through the second half at Brunton Park with a brilliant, curled finish.

The club’s official website’s report described another brilliant goal to add to the one Hesketh scored against Swindon last week.

"Winning the ball on the edge of their own box, Tisdale’s men broke forward with pace. Aneke sent the ball across the edge of the area from the right and it found its way through to Hesketh, who took a touch and curled a beauty of a strike around Collin and into the far corner.”

Afterwards, Hesketh told mkdons.com: “Fair play to the fans for coming all this way. It’s a long journey for them so sending them home happy is what we set out to do.”

Hesketh was substituted in the 88th minute after what the Milton Keynes Citizen described as a fiery display.

He opened his MK Dons account with a stunning left-footer in a 3-2 defeat at home to Swindon.

His latest goal helped Paul Tisdale’s side to a 3-2 win after going 3-1 up in the 77th minute

After two away wins in four days, MK Dons are fourth in League Two – six points adrift of leaders Lincoln City.
