Talksport host Adrian Durham believes Dusan Tadic is the best player to have played for Saints since Matt Le Tissier.

Durham, speaking yesterday on his drivetime show with former England cricketer Darren Gough, lambasted the St Mary’s club for letting Tadic leave for £10m last summer.

The Serbian has been in exceptional form for Ajax this season, scoring 23 goals in 35 appearances for the Dutch side.

Not only has he taken the Eredivisie by storm, but Tadic is also the second-highest scorer in the Champions League this season with six goals. Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski is out in front with eight.

Tadic scored against Real Madrid on Tuesday night to take him level with Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

And the ex-Saint’s performance didn’t go unnoticed in the Santiago Bernabéu with French newspaper L’Equipe rating the playmaker 10/10.

This is only the ninth time in their history that they’ve given full marks to a player, which prompted Durham to rant about Saints’ decision to sell him.
