SAINTS legend Matt Le Tissier is backing his former side to play a part in halting Liverpool’s charge to the Premier League title.

The St Mary’s side host the Reds next month on Friday, 5 April [8pm].

Liverpool are currently gearing up for their final run of games which will determine whether they can pip Manchester City to first place.

City are two points behind Jurgen Klopp’s team but have a game in hand over their rivals.

And while Le Tissier thinks Liverpool won’t lose any of their remaining games, he sees them slipping up at St Mary’s.

He said: “The Saints game is one Liverpool drops points in.

“That is not myself being biased.

“The win against Spurs will give them a massive lift and the way Ralph Hasenhuttl has got them playing is great.

“They took Man Utd all the way at Old Trafford and beat Arsenal and Spurs at home. They raise their game.”

Fellow Sky Sports pundit and former Arsenal player, Charlie Nicholas, is also backing Saints to be a thorn in Liverpool's side.

Nicholas said: “The Saints clash is another tremendously difficult game.

“Hasenhuttl is getting results, and I am going to go for a draw again.”

However, fellow pundit and ex-Liverpool player, Phil Thompson, thinks that Saints won't be able to prevent his former club storming to the title.

He is backing Klopp's side to win all their remaining fixtures,
