Saints’ under-18s are set to be part of a moment in history tomorrow when they become the first opposition for Tottenham at their new stadium.
The youngsters’ Under-18 Premier League game against their North London rivals will be the opening test event for the new ground, with a crowd of around 30,000 expected.
Spurs are playing at the stadium on consecutive weekends as they prepare to host a first senior game on April 3.
Tottenham have confirmed that manager and former Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino – whose son Maurizio might well be in the Spurs ranks - will attend the fixture and will be interviewed on the pitch at half time.
The stadium and the huge attendance will be a remarkable experience for the under-18s of both clubs, who are used to playing in front of attendances that are largely stuck in double figures.
