St Mary’s Stadium has been confirmed as the venue for England’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Kosovo on Tuesday, 10 September [7.45pm].

As reported by the Daily Echo at the beginning of April, Saints’ ground was in pole position to host the Three Lions for the first time in 17 years.

Saints and The FA were awaiting approval from Uefa before the official announcement today.

Tickets for the game will go on sale from Friday, 10 May to members of the England Supporters Travel Club.

Fans who are signed up to the England Supporters Club can purchase tickets from Monday, 13 May.

The FA have priced the tickets at £55, £45, £35 for adults and then, for those sitting in the family section, it will be £25 for an adult and £10 for a junior.

St Mary’s had its one and only England international match back in October 2002, which ended in a 2-2 draw against Macedonia with David Beckham and Steven Gerrard on the scoresheet.

Despite not hosting the men’s senior side since then, Saints’ ground has welcomed the England under-21s three times and the Lionesses once.

The Group A tie will be the first competitive match the Three Lions will have played away from Wembley since October 2006.

Gareth Southgate’s England side played friendlies at Elland Road and the King Power Stadium last year to capitalise on their growing popularity.
