Saints are eyeing a potential bid for Everton winger Yannick Bolasie, according to a report in The Sun.

The summer transfer window opened for business today and will remain open until Thursday, 8 August [5pm].

Bolasie, 29, has spent his season away from Merseyside on loan with Aston Villa and then Anderlecht.

He had agreed to a year-long temporary deal at Villa Park, only for him to be sent back to Everton in January.

The Toffees wasted no time in shipping the winger back out for the remainder of the season.

Bolasie scored four goals in 15 games during his short time in the Belgian Division One.

He initially joined Everton from Crystal Palace for £25 million back in August 2016.

Despite The Sun’s report, Bolasie doesn’t fit the profile of player that Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl said he was keen to sign.

The Austrian wants to target youngsters who will arrive with the hunger to prove themselves in the Premier League.

His theory behind this is that if they pitch up at Saints and work hard, they will be able to secure a move away to a bigger club down the line.
