NEWLY promoted Sheffield United have enquired about Charlie Austin's availability, according to Sky Sports News.

Austin is one of the players that Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is happy to let go of this summer.

And the south coast side are reportedly holding out for a fee believed to be around £10m.

Former QPR star Austin made 27 appearances for Saints last season, scoring three times.

This news comes as the club were said to be giving up on their pursuit of Birmingham ace Che Adams and looking to sign David Okereke instead.

Spezia striker Okereke netted 10 goals and notched up 12 assists for the Serie B side last season which has caught the attention from a number of Premier League clubs.

As well as Saints being interested, the report claims West Ham and Crystal Palace are also tracking the 21-year-old.

Hasenhuttl is a big fan of Birmingham striker Adams but the two sides are yet to come to an agreement over a transfer fee.

Saints value the Championship ace at around £14m, with the Blues wanting more for their star player.

Adams bagged 22 goals for Birmingham last season which saw him named as the club's player of the year.

Although he is the preferred option, Hasenhuttl doesn't want to wait all summer to land his targets and will move on if a deal can't be agreed.

This has led to reports in the national media suggesting the south coast side have done exactly that with their pursuit of Okereke.

Saints have already completed one transfer this window with Moussa Djenepo arriving from Standard Liege on a four-year deal, costing £14m.
