SAINTS boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has admitted the club may still sign a player before the window closes at 5pm.

Striker Charlie Austin is currently in talks over a move to West Brom, which would free up some cash to add to the squad.

Hasenhuttl said: “The phone is hard working and there a lot of meetings in the back so I think we should wait.

“It can be that one player is leaving us today and we still have players in our mind and maybe one is coming in.

“It’s very busy behind the scenes.

“We always speak about our possibilities and try to stay on track which means the baggage must be perfect for us.

“We try to bring in players who have the perfect personality for our team which is what we have with Che Adams and Moussa Djenepo.

“If we think the financial risk is ok then we will do it.”
