Saints have confirmed that their new home and away kits will not be available to supporters until the end of August.

Manufacturers Under Armour have made the kits but there has been an issue with another supplier who has encountered problems adding the logo of sponsors LD Sports to the front of the shirts.

It all means that the shirts will not be on sale until at least the home game against Manchester United on August 31.

A statement read: “Southampton Football Club is pleased to be able to provide supporters with more information regarding the delay in the release of our 19/20 home & away kits.

“Since receiving the kits, the Club has been working to find a solution to the issues encountered during the logo embellishment process, which has delayed the on-sale date of our home and away kits. With a suitable solution found, we are now in a position to be able to schedule delivery of the new kits.

“We are pleased to say that our third and goalkeeper kits will be available for purchase online and in stores from 9am on Saturday 10th August.

“However, we are sorry to confirm that, despite the best efforts of the Club, our home and away kits will not be available in time for the start of the season.

“The Club is confident that both home and away kits will be on sale by the time the team plays Manchester United at home on 31st August and will provide further updates ahead of this to communicate full details of their availability.

“The club would like to apologise to our fans for the delay and the frustrations this has understandably caused, and thank them for their continued patience as we resolve this issue.”
