FORMER Saints boss Claude Puel is back in management with Saint-Etienne.

The Frenchman guided Saints to a League Cup final and eighth in the Premier League during his only season at the club back in 2016/17.

After a few months out of the game, Puel returned to the Premier League to take charge at Leicester City after they parted company with Craig Shakespeare in October 2017.

However, he then found himself ushered out of the door as fans grew tired of his cautious style of play.

The Foxes parted company with Puel in January 2019, with him remaining out of work until being offered a return to France with Saint-Etienne, who have him tied down until 2022.

Puel took charge of 53 matches during his year-long spell at St Mary’s.
