SAINTS captain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg labelled the club’s recent form as ‘unacceptable’ following the 4-1 defeat to Chelsea.

Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi all netted in what turned out to be an easy Sunday afternoon for the Blues.

Speaking to Southampton FC’s website, Hojbjerg said: “We made the game too open and with Chelsea's individual quality they punish our mistakes.

“It was too easy. You don't get points against Chelsea like that.

“There is the mental part as well, it isn't easy. But I promise you we are very hungry and very ambitious to show that this isn't what we want.

"It isn't what we're hoping for. It's only up to us, to the players in the dressing room to change that.

"We need to give what the fans and everyone around the club what they deserve. We want to work on the next game already and look forward.

"At the moment looking back is not the easiest part. It isn't acceptable, so we need to put our heads together and show our personalities. Dig deep, it's pretty simple."
