A HOST of former Saints names have been chosen to be pundits for Amazon Prime's coverage of the Premier League next year.

Ex-striker Alan Shearer will be joined by Peter Crouch and Harry Redknapp on the couch to dissect all the action.

Another former Saints boss involved in Amazon's foray into football is Glenn Hoddle.

Hoddle replaced Dave Jones as boss back in 2000 and remained in charge until March 2001.

Thierry Henry joins Shearer in leading the coverage, along with Jermaine Jenas, Alex Scott, Peter Schmeichel and Michael Owen.

The streaming service will exclusively show 20 matches in December, starting with the midweek round of games at the start of the month followed by a Boxing Day marathon, where nine fixtures will be shown on the same day.

Saints' games with Norwich and Chelsea will be streamed by the online giant.

Manchester City’s trip to Wolves on December 27 will conclude the coverage.

Big-name commentators Clive Tyldesley, Jon Champion and Guy Mowbray are also on board, with Andy Townsend, Ally McCoist, Hoddle, Sue Smith and Kevin Kilbane providing co-commentary.

BBC Sport’s Gabby Logan, who already presents on Amazon, will be hosting the coverage alongside Jim Rosenthal and Eilidh Barbour.

The Merseyside derby, Tottenham’s trip to Manchester United and Liverpool’s visit to Leicester are just some of the games to be featured.
