JOSH Sims has attracted interest from Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.
Garry Monk, who played for Saints during his career, is in charge at Hillsborough and refused to rule out a move for Sims.
The 22-year-old spent the first half of this season on loan with the New York Red Bulls, before returning to Staplewood.
Speaking to the Sheffield Star, Monk said: "He [Sims] would be one of the names that came up in our recruitment meetings but there is nothing concrete I can really tell you.
"I would like there to be something to tell you but there isn't."
Sims has struggled to hold down a spot in the Saints starting XI, although he was recalled early from his loan spell with Reading last season.
A brief cameo against Tottenham off the bench was enough for manager Ralph Hasenhuttl to select him more frequently in the following weeks.
In total, Sims made seven appearances from the beginning of March to the end of the previous campaign.
However, with Moussa Djenepo's summer arrival, it pushed Sims further down the pecking order and eventually Stateside.
He played eight times in the MLS, scoring once.
