SAINTS could be treated to a motivational video ahead of this afternoon's clash against Newcastle.

Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl revealed he thinks of ways to "tickle" his players to give them an edge over their opponents.

And because a win would all-but guarantee Saints' Premier League safety, Hasenhuttl wants his side to be fired up.

He said: "Their behaviour or the schedule before games is the same so we try to keep motivation as high as possible.

"Sometimes we use motivational videos but we try to keep it similar."

Pressed on what these videos include, Hasenhuttl added: "Different topics we use, whatever comes in my mind as a good chance to tickle them a little.

"That’s what comes from my side and other ideas from analysts and then the media team create something for me.

"Sometimes it’s ok and sometimes I choose not to use it.

"It depends on the atmosphere and the way the team is motivated already."

One player who Hasenhuttl says he won't struggle to motivate is Sofiane Boufal.

The Moroccan was hauled off against the Hammers in the 54th minute.

"Like everyone, when he doesn’t finish a game he’s not happy – that’s normal. It's not nice for players but they accept this."
