SAINTS manager Ralph Hasenhuttl paid tribute to the "unbelievable" atmosphere he heard at St Mary's on Saturday.
The supporters were at their loudest during an enthralling first half and continued to raise the noise after the break, urging their team forward.
A host of decisions during the opening 45 minutes, including Moussa Djenepo's red card, fired them up.
And Hasenhuttl is now desperate for the atmosphere he heard on Saturday to become the new normal going forward to help drive his side to victory - especially when they have 11 men on the pitch.
Saints' boss said: “The crowd was unbelievable.
"They supported us so well.
“I have not often had an atmosphere like this but that doesn’t mean I want to play with one man down.
“It should be normal.
"I haven’t seen them acting like this before. In the future that must be the standard."
