SAINTS' Twitter account has jokingly told Liverpool to stay away from star striker Danny Ings.

Ings bagged a brace at Watford on Sunday, firing Ralph Hasenhuttl's side to 40 points for the first time in three seasons.

The ace left Liverpool to join Saints on loan in 2018 before the deal became permanent last summer.

And following Sunday's win at Vicarage Road, a Liverpool fan asked Saints whether they can have Ings back in a deal that would see Dejan Lovren go the other way.

However, the south coast side weren't having any of it, saying: "You've had enough from us..."

Liverpool have raided Saints during the last six years, with their title success built on a host of former St Mary's stars.

Defender Virgil van Dijk and Sadio mane helped the Reds achieve their first top-flight championship in 30 years.

But they aren't the only former Saints at Anfield, as both Adam Lallana and Lovren were also raided from St Mary's.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who left the south coast for Arsenal, is also at Anfield.
