SAINTS have been set a challenge of surpassing 50 Premier League points.
Ralph Hasenhuttl guided his side to a 2-0 win over Bournemouth which has left them hovering on 49 with just one game remaining.
Their current total also means that they’ve managed to better ex-boss Claude Puel’s tally of 46 back in 2016/17.
And Hasenhuttl wants them to take their total above 50 with a win against Sheffield United on Sunday.
He said: “There are still three more to get, so let us get those because 50 points is the target now.
“It’s amazing, especially when you see where we were coming from in October.
“It’s been an unbelievably long and strange season but now we are in a fantastic position and have the chance of another win.”
Hasenhuttl also addressed his side's failure to score from the penalty spot.
“I think the lads practised after training on Saturday!" Saints' boss added.
“But there are a lot of stats about penalties after VAR decisions taking very long and then it’s sometimes only 55 per cent that they are making the goal.
“It’s interesting but we must speak about that.”
