RALPH Hasenhuttl admits he isn’t sure what his side’s limits are.

The St Mary’s side go into Sunday’s final game of the season on the back of a brilliant Project Restart.

They’ve picked up wins against Norwich, Watford, Manchester City and Bournemouth as well as sealing a last-minute draw away to Manchester United.

This has left fans optimistic ahead of the 2020/21 campaign, with Hasenhuttl also feeling buoyant.

He said: “I don't know what our limits are when you see this season, how our game developed and what games we played.

“The win against Man City and everything, it's not a guarantee for next season but we are definitely on a different level in possession but also against the ball and this gives me a lot of confidence.

“But you never know how strong the other teams are coming back from the break and how many new players they buy.

“I am always a friend of continuous development and it's sometimes easier with the same players, but that does not mean that we don't need fresh blood and new players to keep the ‘dual side’ that nobody leans back that is normal behaviour sometimes.

“But we have a very good character in the team and when you bring in players that fit well with the team the rest will be about hard work.”
