BESIKTAS have been alerted to the possibility of signing Saints midfielder Mario Lemina, according to reports in Turkey.

The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, but it is understood they are not planning to take up their option to purchase the player.

Turkish outlet Fotomac claim Lemina has instead been offered to Istanbul rivals Besiktas, who opted to move for Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny on loan last summer as opposed to Lemina.

Gabon international Lemina, 26, joined Saints from Juventus for around £15million in 2017 and has made 52 appearances for the club, scoring twice.
