SAINTS striker Danny Ings will battle the rest of the top flight’s star performers for the coveted Premier League’s player of the season award.
The 28-year-old enjoyed a stellar campaign for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side, netting 22 league goals to finish just one behind Leicester’s Jamie Vardy in the race for the division’s Golden Boot.
Having featured in all 38 of Saints’ top-flight encounters, Ings also registered two assists to be one of the league’s most lethal attacking players.
He is set to compete for the award alongside other nominees Kevin De Bruyne, Jordan Henderson, Nick Pope, Saido Mané, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Vardy.

Ings permanently signed for Saints in July 2019 following a successful loan spell from Liverpool.
The former Burnley striker has netted 33 times in 67 games for the St Mary’s side in total.
