FORMER Saints boss Mauricio Pellegrino is considering another move to sign forward Guido Carrillo, according to a report in Argentina.

Pellegrino, who brought Carrillo to Saints from Monaco for £19.2million in 2018, is now in charge of Argentinean outfit Velez Sarsfield.

And a report by TyC Sports claims the 48-year-old is keen for another reunion with the Saints man, with the pair also previously working together at Estudiantes.

Carrillo has made just 10 first-team appearance at Saints and none since March 2018.

After just six months on the south coast, Carrillo left on a season-long loan to join Leganes, who were managed by Pellegrino following his dismissal from Saints.

Pellegrino then acted again the following summer to re-sign the 29-year-old for another year, but the boss departed the La Liga side in October 2019, joining Velez in April this year.

Carrillo made 60 appearances for Leganes, scoring 10 goals and has 10 months remaining on his contract at Saints.
