SAINTS are in talks to sign American midfielder Weston McKennie, according to Sky Sports.
The report claims Saints are negotiating with his club Schalke over a £20million deal.
Sky in Germany say McKennie is "keen" on the move after turning down a switch to Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin.
McKennie, 21, has played 91 times for Schalke, scoring five goals.
The Texas-born ace has 19 caps for the USA senior side, scoring six goals, including the fastest hat-trick in the nation's history during a CONCACAF Nations League win over Cuba last year, taking just 13 minutes to score the three goals.
