SAINTS have been linked with a move for Sampdoria defender Omar Colley, according to a report from Italy.
Tuttomercato claim the St Mary’s side have made a bid for the Gambian defender.
Colley featured for Gambian clubs Wallidan and Real de Banjul before making the move to Finland to join Kuopion Palloseura in January 2013.
He has also featured for Djurgardens and Genk across Europe before making the switch to Sampdoria in June 2018.
Colley, 27, has played 55 times for Sampdoria and helped them finish 15th in the Italian top flight under Claudio Ranieri last season.
Saints have already strengthened at centre-half this summer, having signed Mohammed Salisu from Real Valladolid earlier this month.
Full-back Kyle Walker-Peters has also arrived from Tottenham following a successful loan spell to boost Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.
