SAINTS are reportedly one of four clubs to have had an offer turned down for Almeria striker Darwin Núñez, according to reports.

Media outlet Calcio Mercato claim the likes of Saints, Brighton, Wolfsburg and Benfica have had bids turned down for the 21-year-old.

Uruguayan Nunez joined Segunda outfit Almeria from Penarol in 2019 and enjoyed a fruitful 2019-20 campaign.

He scored 16 times from 32 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish outfit last season.

Having represented his country at youth level, Nunez made his senior international debut for Uruguay against Peru in October last year, scoring against Peru.

Benfica are believed to be leading candidates for Nunez’s signature.
