SHANE Long, Jan Bednarek and Stuart Armstrong all added to their international caps in the opening round of the UEFA Nations League.

Long came on for the final 13 minutes as Republic of Ireland snatched a 1-1 draw at Bulgaria in Group B4.

Trailing to a Bozhidar Kraev goal, Stephen Kenny's side battled back to nick a point in stoppage time, thanks to a header from Celtic defender Shane Duffy.

Elsewhere, Bednarek played the full 90 minutes and was booked as Poland were edged out 1-0 by Holland in Group A1.

The 24-year-old defender held keep out the Dutch for an hour, before Spurs winger Steven Bergwijn broke the deadlock.

Saints star Stuart Armstrong played the final 11 minutes as Scotland drew 1-1 with Israel in Glasgow.

Leading through a Ryan Christie penalty, the hosts were pegged back when Eran Zahavi fired in.

James Ward-Prowse and Danny Ings will hope to be involved for England this evening in Iceland (5pm).

Later on in the same group, Jannik Vestergaard could feature for Denmark against Belgium (7.45pm).
